But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount on wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30

With strangely warmed hearts and despite the chill winter weather, the district Revival service was a befitting treat and an uplifting experience to the young at heart not only Spiritually but both morally and physically

Sunday 6 July saw the Harare East district thronging the renowned Harare gardens in a de-segregating, spirit filled and educative whole day worship service.

The call to true worship by the District Superintendent, Reverend Tsitsi Madziyire was a heartfelt challenge and motivation to the young generation if ever restoration (individual) is to be experienced to the setting of the rock, Ebenezer!

“God is seeking true worshipers and we must put our focus on the Living God who will contend for us against the enemy if we repent, cry to the lord with continual prayer, faithful service and thanks giving” said DS Madziyire. “Don’t relax and think that restoration comes free, get out of the comfort zone and don’t retreat in the face of trials and challenges but be steadfast with the Lords help.”

Let a generation of youths rise to the call; determined to serve the Lord, progressing in faith and succeeding in life through work, continuous and hard work. A generation that will not lose a minute of their daily apportionment of time to sleep and slumber but with proper time management, planning and innovation transforms into giants of stewardship and giving.

This was well articulated by the guest speaker Reverend S. Mawoyo who challenged the whole congregation to raise standards in productive service, self development and offering thanks to God. “Do not rush into marriage but plan your future as you work on God’s provisions. God made all things beautifully and adequately for you to tend to your family whilst faithfully serving God as a steward.” Indeed young people have a pivotal role to play in the building of the church and with collective participation seasoned with devotion, acknowledging God’s favour and steadfast love. Amid the challenges of unemployment and other trials, young people should desist from uncouth behaviours and cheap pleasures to engage themselves to productive chores like poultry, farming or venturing into other fields of academic study. Through stewardship, poverty can be alleviated amongst the youths and the UMYF becomes champions in advancing the BEB Concept that requires everyone’s hand in building the house of the Lord.

The foundation to it all is Jesus Christ, His will cannot be thwarted and to what God has built there is no authority to destroy. Now is the time to build with gusto the work that awaits each and every UMYF member because this will someday be tasted with fire.

“You are too big to be destroyed because God is the foundation of your life and the church therefore have to choose on how you build the Lord’s house bearing in mind that whatever the material we use, it shall be tasted with fire and all will be rewarded accordingly” said Reverend Waraidzo Masukume who left the congregation in deep thought over how to serve the Lord with the best material that will not be reduced to ash.

True worship and focusing on the Lord, proper time management in stewardship and building the best for the Lord is all to put in with the cry for the mercy of the Lord. He indeed is faithful to ‘restore, strengthen, establish and support’ the young generation to make a difference through meaningful participation, faithful service and paying attention to the ministry given to each one so that we can accomplish it.
