On Saturday 11 January 2025, the Harare Central District was abuzz with excitement as believers from across the district gathered for an all-day revival at Glenorah 2 High School in Harare. The highly anticipated revival, themed “Worshipping God through a First Fruit Offering,” featured a powerhouse line-up of four preachers and a guest worship team. The worship team comprised of Glen Norah East MUMC and Brian Manhindi on the keys.

As the event was about to start, huge Cumulonimbus clouds started their own gathering in the skies, casting doubt on the continuance of the revival. However, against all odds, believers still made their way to the venue to quench their hunger for more of His presence and the fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The day’s proceedings kicked off anyway, with a rousing welcome by Rev R Kamba who set the tone for the gathering. Rev R Mauwa was the acting DS for the day, standing in for DS Oswell Kaseke who was attending Gogo Jane Mapuranga’s funeral in Shamva.

First, to take the stage was Rev C Masukume, who delivered a stirring devotion, which focused on the different works the Lord will do in 2025. His impassioned plea for believers to continue with prayer and fasting resonated deeply with the congregation. Next up was Mr J Mushambi, who shared a powerful word, which were riding on the words “Munguva yeduwo Mwari zviitei zvakare!” The afternoon saw Rev B.T. Kahari [from Baptist church, Kuwadzana] take the pulpit, bringing a timely teaching on ‘Tapping into the Invisible Divine Economy’. Finally, Pst E Kawadza closed out the day with a fiery sermon based on the experiences of Paul & Silas when they were in prison. As she spoke, the atmosphere in the tents became electric, with many responding to the altar call and seeking prayer.

Throughout the day, the guest worship team led the congregation in spirited praise and worship. Their energetic performances and heartfelt expressions of devotion helped create an atmosphere conducive to the move of God.

As the revival drew to a close, it was clear that the event had achieved its purpose .The Revival will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the lives of all who attended. The online family followed the proceedings, with numerous reactions and comments posted via the comments section. This denotes that the impact of the sermons did not only extend to those physically present, but also to those who were watching from around the globe.
